Job Description

Location: Cirencester/Hybrid

The main purpose of the role is to support the development, maintenance, improvement and implementation of the Group Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) and Operational Resilience (OR) framework.

 The aim is to identify and mitigate threats to the business; identify the priority processes supporting the Important Business Services; the resources required to continue processes and implement solutions to reduce the impacts of incidents. To manage and facilitate the annual assurance programme.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support the Head of Business Continuity & OR with the development, implementation and continual improvement of the business continuity management system across the Group
  • Support the Strategic and Tactical Recovery teams in the preparedness for, and response to incidents affecting or likely to affect SJP
  • Provide training and guidance for all areas of the business to implement, maintain and improve the business continuity planning
  • Develop, review and challenge the content of the business continuity documentation for operational areas to ensure appropriate solutions are in place
  • Manage the agreed annual assurance programme, reporting on areas for improvement, identifying risks and agreeing actions resulting from assurance activity including exercises
  • Develop, integrate and improve the testing and exercising programme to support the business areas and the major incident response teams
  • Build strong relationships with SJP and Rowan Dartington location staff
  • Liaise with relationship managers and suppliers regarding business continuity making recommendations for actions and improvements as appropriate to maintain services to SJP
  • Develop and produce the MI reporting for all relevant teams, committees, and boards
  • To promote a business continuity culture across the Group

Who we're looking for:

  • Experience of the full cycle of Business Continuity within a financial services environment 
  • We actively encourage the jobholder to study all areas related to Business Continuity & Operational Resilience, which would be supported with training
  • It would be preferred that the job holder has a recognised qualification in Business Continuity or Operational Resilience
  • Good problem solving ability

Special Requirements:

  • The role is Hybrid with a requirement to support this approach with an agreed base location and potentially travel to any of the SJP locations across the UK & Ireland
  • Visits to Material Outsourcer locations may also be required from time to time to assist with oversight and due diligence as required.
  • Continual professional development is encouraged and qualifications in any area of business continuity and risk management would be an advantage to conduct and develop the role
